Thank you for visiting the website of the Anglican Church of the Advent! We were founded in 1977 in Rye Brook, New York and moved to Greenwich in 1992. We meet at the North Greenwich Congregational Church. About half of our people live in Greenwich and the other half come from surrounding areas in Westchester and Fairfield County. We number about 50 people of all ages and all religious backgrounds. Some people are drawn to us because of our traditional Anglican/Episcopal worship. It has been said that our worship is “church the way it used to be.” Other people like our biblical teaching and sacramental focus. There are also people who have simply found us to be a friendly congregation in an attractive backcountry Greenwich setting. Our usual Service is the Holy Eucharist, also known as Holy Communion or Mass. We offer Sunday School during the Eucharist and children are brought into church for a blessing when the adults are receiving Communion.
